It is the story of two Irish immigrants, one man, Mickey Walsh, and one pony eventually taking on the name Little Squire. Both were small of stature but big in talent. The pony was the mix of Connemara pony and a champion thoroughbred stallion.

He was sold over and over again as his fame and talent grew. When Little Squire and Mickey Walsh were put together the perfect match was made. This book is a true story. The pony is taken away from its mother and people are mainly amazed on how the pony can jump.
